City and Spectacle: A Vision of Pre-Earthquake Lisbon
The first phase of the project consists on a virtual reconstruction of the eastern side of the Lisbon’s Royal Courtyard (Terreiro do Paço) just before it was destroyed by the 1755 earthquake.
Modelled buildings include the Royal Palace, the surviving part of the early 16th century original palace, the Royal Opera House and the Royal Palace Gardens, as well as connecting streets.
Developed for CHAIA (University of Évora), it was presented at the 9th VAST International Symposium on Virtual Reality, Archaeology and Cultural Heritage – 6th Eurographics Workshop on Graphics and Cultural Heritage, which took place in Braga, Portugal, December 2 to 6, 2009.

jornalista e investigador na área do tempo, da relojoaria e das mentalidades,
tomei agora conhecimento do vosso projecto, que muito me impressionou
estou particularmente interessado no que a marcadores de tempo públicos ele diz respeito
nomeadamente: na vossa reconstituição do paço da ribeira, figura uma torre de relógio – será a que o arquitecto italiano canevari projectou? em que desenhos se basearam?
há depois uma outra torre de relógio que aparece, também junto a um jardim interior – não consigo identificar o local, qual é?
figuram na vossa reconstituição outros marcadores de tempo colectivos?
