The first phase of the project consists on a virtual reconstruction of the eastern side of the Lisbon’s Royal Courtyard (Terreiro do Paço) just before it was destroyed by the 1755 earthquake.

Modelled buildings include the Royal Palace, the surviving part of the early 16^th century original palace, the Royal Opera House and the Royal Palace Gardens, as well as connecting streets.

Developed for CHAIA (University of Évora), it was presented at the 9^th VAST International Symposium on Virtual Reality, Archaeology and Cultural Heritage – 6^th Eurographics Workshop on Graphics and Cultural Heritage, which took place in Braga, Portugal,  December 2 to 6, 2009.
